New Building for the Durham School of the Arts

March 22, 2008

DTW Architects & Planners has completed work on a new $6.8-million building for the Durham School of the Arts. The two-story building also houses history classes and two computer labs, offering a fresh start for the students and teachers who previously held classes in the aging Carr Building, which dates back to 1911. The new 31,000-square foot building features classrooms over 850 square feet in size — twice the size of the old Carr Building classrooms — and offers a two-story atrium adjacent to the auditorium.
